Boyle Discusses Trump’s Foreign Policy and Media Reactions
Matthew Boyle, the Washington Bureau Chief for Breitbart News, recently shared insights during an interview with Right2theBone and the Greek Conservative Network, suggesting that people shouldn’t be surprised by President Donald Trump’s maneuvering on the global stage, including his alliances and foreign policy decisions.
In response to questions about the media’s astonishment regarding the administration’s actions—highlighting the 2025 National Security Strategy—Boyle pointed out that ongoing surprise from politicians and analysts about various decisions related to borders, alliances, China, and energy, as well as Iran, shouldn’t really exist.
“President Trump has consistently communicated his intentions since entering the political arena,” Boyle remarked, citing everything from his initial campaign launch to his current national security strategy and subsequent actions.
He stressed that Trump is fundamentally focused on America’s national interests, stating, “in every way,” that the president’s priority is to advance these interests globally. He noted, sometimes we have allies that facilitate this, but at other times, the U.S. has to navigate through challenges presented by friends or confront serious adversaries like Iran, which he hopes will eventually be resolved.
Boyle expressed his frustration over media narratives, saying it was “complete nonsense” for both domestic and international outlets to generate hysteria about the president’s decisions. He pointed out that Trump had achieved a significant electoral victory in the 2024 presidential race, making any concern about his actions moot.
He remarked, “The duly elected president won the national popular vote by millions in all key battleground states. It’s a total victory.” Trump, he noted, is executing the agenda he campaigned on, both at home and abroad.
Boyle also referenced Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who has highlighted that the most pressing threats to the West are now internal, like the erosion of free speech and election integrity. He acknowledged that Vice President J.D. Vance had been the first to bring attention to this issue, which initially shocked many in Europe.
He explained that while the first response to Vance’s message was negative, Rubio received a positive reaction when he conveyed the same points a year later. “Sometimes we have to push our allies in the right direction, but they are our friends, and we are here to support them,” Boyle noted.
Finally, he reinforced the notion that a strong Europe is beneficial for the U.S., stating, “What strengthens Europe, strengthens America,” and expressed optimism that over time, European allies will come to agree with this perspective.
