Chilling message from Costa Rican police to California father after his daughter disappeared at yoga retreat

Costa Rican officials have informed the father of a missing woman from California that they suspect she may have had a “water-related accident.” This unsettling news comes in light of 30-year-old Ashley Phillips’ disappearance.

Ashley was last seen on June 2 while hiking to a waterfall, a spot where she practiced yoga regularly.

During that time, the area faced terrible weather, which led to dangerous landslides and flash floods. On Monday, Jeffrey Phillips, her father, was told by local authorities that his daughter might be involved in such an accident, as reported.

He even shared a disturbing video showing a flash flood overwhelming a waterfall near the location where Ashley was last seen.

The search operations for her have been hindered by ongoing severe weather, with Tropical Storm Christina causing high winds and heavy rainfall in the region.

Initially, the family received mixed messages from authorities about Ashley’s disappearance, including suggestions of potential criminal involvement. However, officials later withdrew that claim, stating they were continuing to investigate.

Jeffrey noted that Ashley was in a secluded area where emergency services were sparse. Remarkably, she had been feeling cheerful lately, even mentioning a small pineapple growing in a bush at her retreat.

Ashley had traveled to Home Farm, a wellness retreat in Costa Rica’s Diamante Valley known for its natural surroundings and tranquility.

This retreat claims to provide a rejuvenating experience, surrounded by expansive jungle and situated near Naujaca Falls.

As of June 12, the family provided an update on their GoFundMe page about the search effort, which had raised nearly $16,000, closing in on its $20,000 target.

They reflected on the tenth day since Ashley went hiking and did not return.

The family is now cherishing her memory, particularly her affection for animals. They expressed deep gratitude for the support they’ve received, which has aided volunteers tirelessly searching for Ashley.

“We continue to pray for Ashley and her family, hoping for peace, strength, and closure during this challenging time.”
