Almost the Weekend! What’s Coming Up?

We’ve made it past the midweek slump, and now it’s almost time for the weekend! Hang in there, everyone; we’re close!

There’s quite a bit happening soon, too. The US Open is on the horizon, along with the College World Series Championship Series.

Oh, and for soccer fans, FIFA events are coming up as well. Also, tonight there’s a game—Angel Reese vs. Caitlin Clark—which, judging by the WNBA rules, seems worth noting. So, plenty to keep us entertained as June winds down.

This Sunday marks the longest day of the year, so I guess we’ll have to make the most out of that!

Amazing, isn’t it?

Jenna Sims and Brooks Koepka at the US Open

Welcome to Thursday Nightcap! Jenna Sims is giving Brooks Koepka a playful send-off as he prepares for the challenges of Shinnecock Hills.

What else is on the agenda? We’ve gathered some interesting reader emails that will shed light on the US Open opener, share hilarious moments from a minor league manager’s meltdown, and discuss an earlier day’s day-drinking escapade.

Exciting stuff, right? Let’s dive in!

If you’re in Southampton today, you might want to grab a windbreaker in case of unpredictable weather.

Exciting Times Ahead!

Soak it all in—this is the second-to-last golf major of the season. Three rounds of the U.S. Open are left, along with four rounds of the British Open starting next April.

The atmosphere at Shinnecock Hills is absolutely electric; it’s hard not to love it here. If you recall, the last US Open took place in 2018 when Fox had the rights to it.

Remember that unforgettable hot mic moment? Classic. All was well with Tiger and Phil making an appearance, and golf was buzzing.

Meanwhile, Jenna Sims is keeping steady as Brooks is gearing up; the weather in New York isn’t bothering her. Speaking of Brooks, he won that event back in 2018—let’s hope another victory is on the horizon.

Ready for a Great Round!

Jenna’s really thriving these days. It’s been a scene ever since Brooks returned to the PGA Tour, and now all eyes are on him to claim another major trophy. It feels like he’s really close this time.

Fingers crossed for a fantastic round of golf this weekend!

Now, let’s swing back to the status of the course today…

Let’s Get Real with Reader Mail

It’s still early, but as I write this, Brooks is in the lead. By the time you read this, he might be trailing behind, but hey, let’s appreciate this moment.

By the way, bunker shots? I can’t stand them. If I ever find myself in one, and it goes badly like it did for Brandon Wu once, I might just lose it.

Ah, golf! A beautiful mess sometimes.

Switching gears, I had a lunch with the First Lady earlier this week. After a couple of beers, I came home feeling like I could use a nap. Is that a thing? Maybe I’m just getting too old for this!

But some experienced friends reassured me, so maybe it’s not just me.

Baseball and Reflection

Now, as summer rolls on, how about supporting your local baseball team? Everyone should do that!

There’s been talk about some live-wire moments in baseball lately. We’ve got upgrades like ABS and Instant Replay, but do they take away from those chaotic, thrilling moments we used to love?

Back then, you could count on heated exchanges between managers and umpires—like Bobby Cox! Those days felt special, didn’t they?

Anyway, thanks for tuning in today. We all have a lot on our plates, so let’s keep the momentum going!

Catch you tomorrow!
