Oba Femi Wins King of the Ring at Night of Champions
Oba Femi and Jey Uso opened the Night of Champions event in Saudi Arabia on Saturday with the King of the Ring finals. The victor would secure a title shot of their choice at SummerSlam, an enticing opportunity. Femi appeared to have both Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns on his mind as he faced Uso, who was eager to bring the undisputed WWE Championship back to the Bloodline.
Uso attempted to rally support throughout the match, using a series of ambitious moves including thrust kicks, a shoulder block, a spear, and a dramatic Uso Splash. Unfortunately for him, it wasn’t enough to take down “The Ruler.”
Ultimately, Femi reclaimed the upper hand, launching Uso onto the mat with impressive force. He then executed a fall from Grace, pinning Uso for the win and earning the King of the Ring title.
In a celebratory promo after the match, Femi expressed, “It feels so good to go from ‘The Ruler’ to King. Jey Uso didn’t realize he was up against more than just one man. You can defeat one man, but you can’t defeat fate, and, most importantly, you can’t beat me.” He went on to declare his grand titles: “I am Oba Femi, the Ruler, the Destroyer, the Bringer of War, the Mountain that cannot be climbed…” and the list went on, showcasing his confidence and bravado.
The future for Uso and other wrestlers, particularly regarding whom to challenge next, is uncertain. One potential contender could be Reigns, given their shared roots as Raw superstars. However, Sami Zayn’s victory over Cody Rhodes and Gunther for the Undisputed WWE Championship later that night complicates matters even further.
SummerSlam is fast approaching, set for August 1st and 2nd, leaving fans eager to see how the landscape will shift.
