Adult son beat his elderly father to death with ceramic bowl and then played video games, police say

The father died from blunt force injuries, and police said they found a broken ceramic bowl with blood on it. His 57-year-old mother was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, including her head trauma and broken bones.

The couple was reportedly attacked about 20 hours before police found them.

A family member told KENS-TV that the man suffers from severe mental illness and had recently moved in with his parents after a divorce. Neighbors said his parents had lived in the apartment for several years.

Barber was charged with murder and aggravated assault. He was given bail of $400,000.
