J.D. Vance Finds ‘Impeachment Time Bomb’ Aimed at Trump in Ukraine Aid Bill

Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) said Monday that the $95 billion Senate bill funding the Ukraine war includes an “impeachment package” for former President Donald Trump if he is re-elected in November. He warned that it contained a “ticking time bomb” and called on Republicans. His colleagues vote against it.

“The bill’s language contains a ticking time bomb for impeachment should President-elect Trump attempt to defund the Ukraine war. We must vote against this disastrous bill. Hmm,” Vance posted on X.

X and Tesla CEO Elon Musk commented on X in response to Vance’s post, saying, “This is insane.”

Earlier Monday, Vance sent a memo to his Republican colleagues saying the bill would provide funding to Ukraine until September 30, 2025, allowing Trump to serve a second term if re-elected. He emphasized that it will be approximately one year until this happens.

Vance wrote in his notes:

The bill includes $1.6 billion for foreign military funding in Ukraine and $13.7 billion for the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative. These funds expire on September 30, 2025, nearly a year after President Trump’s possible second term.

He pointed out that these were the same details for which then-President Trump was impeached in December 2019 for suspending his activities.

Then-Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman and his twin brother Col. Eugene Vindman, both of whom were on the National Security Council at the time, helped President Trump smear then-Vice President Joe. claimed to have been frozen. Biden and his son Hunter Biden’s business dealings in Ukraine.

Vance noted that all House Republicans voted against impeaching Trump. He was later acquitted by the Senate.

The false arguments presented by the Democratic Party were as follows. President Trump allegedly suspended these funds because he wanted the Biden family to investigate their corrupt ties to Ukraine, but President Trump abused his power and aimed to interfere in Ukraine. . US presidential election. ”

Vance also noted that President Trump has promised to resolve the Ukraine war within 24 hours, but could still be forced to send aid to Ukraine.

he warned:

If President Trump were to withdraw or suspend funding for the Ukraine war “over the objections of career experts” in order to bring the conflict to a peaceful end, he would be violating the same bogus budget law from the beginning. It would be equivalent. Impeachment under very similar facts and circumstances.

“Partisan Democrats will seize the opportunity to impeach him again. washington post It reported that restricting President Trump’s foreign policy commitments is a top priority for Biden administration officials,” and that U.S. officials “are openly bragging about the Biden administration’s plans.” post It was hoped that the bill would provide “future-proof” aid to Ukraine should President Trump be re-elected.

Vance concludes his note by writing:

This supplement is an attempt by the foreign policy bloc/deep state to prevent President Trump from pursuing the policies he wants and provide a basis to impeach him and undermine his administration if he chooses to do so anyway. It represents an attempt. All Republicans should oppose passage.

Rick Grenell, Trump’s former acting director of national intelligence, posted on X:

Remove the impeachment time bomb from the Senate bill or vote no. How ridiculous is this secret handcuff set!!?? Oh.

Vance wrote in his notes:

The Senate is scheduled to vote on the bill on Monday, with 60 votes needed for passage.
