US police have arrested a Mexican state police officer involved in the mass murder and incineration of 16 migrants and three smugglers in 2021. Police have discovered a fugitive hiding in Kyle, Texas, to avoid prosecution in Mexico.
Alan Alvarez, a former member of the Tamaulipas state police, is wanted in Mexico for his alleged involvement in the 2021 massacre. In the massacre, police allegedly mistook a convoy of human smugglers for cartel gunmen, shot them, executed the survivors, and then set them on fire. A vehicle attempting to cover up a crime. Alvarez was one of more than a dozen Mexican police officers involved in the mass murder. However, he fled to Texas to avoid prosecution.
Earlier this year, U.S. authorities arrested Mr. Alvarez in Kyle, where he was living in the country illegally. After facing the immigration charges, U.S. authorities contacted Mexican authorities to hand Mr. Alvarez over to them and arrange for his deportation so he could stand trial in that country.
Under tight security, U.S. Border Patrol agents walked Alvarez across the entrance to the international port, where Mexican authorities were waiting to take him into custody.
As Breitbart first reported, the 2021 mass killing occurred just south of the border near Camargo, Tamaulipas, where police officers were driving north toward the border along several dirt roads. I encountered a convoy of SUVs. At the time, police were involved in violent clashes with Gulf Cartel militants, who reportedly mistook the migrants for insurgents. After the carnage and incineration, officers tried to claim that they found the scene exactly as it was and that it was the result of an intense gunfight between rival cartels.
