California authorities recently arrested a suspect in Pinole for allegedly killing his ex-girlfriend.
Jeffrey Kendall was arrested in Santa Cruz on Friday around 11:40 p.m., according to a California Highway Patrol release obtained by FOX 2 San Francisco. Kendall was charged with murder and domestic violence.
On Friday morning, authorities found the suspect’s ex-girlfriend shot to death in her Pinole home. Kendall has a child with the woman, FOX 2 reported.
Authorities believe the suspect entered the victim’s home and assaulted him. Neighbors who live nearby spoke to FOX 2 about their concerns about the incident.

“Everyone here is really, really shaken up because they’re incredibly shocked and worried,” a neighbor said.
After Kendall was arrested, his car was impounded. The California Highway Patrol announced the arrest on Saturday.
“The CHP Santa Cruz Regional Office commends our officers for their swift and decisive action in apprehending a dangerous suspect and ensuring the safety of the community,” the office wrote Saturday.

The Pinole Police Department also released a statement regarding the incident.
“We would like to thank all the public, media partners, law enforcement partners, and especially the California Highway Patrol Santa Cruz Office for their assistance in the search for Jeffrey Kendall,” the Pinole Police Department said in a release.

Kendall was transported to the Martinez Detention Center and his bail is set at $1.1 million.
