Denny Hamlin will enter the Daytona 500 on Monday looking for his fourth victory in the event known as the “Great American Race.”
The driver of the No. 11 FedEx Toyota Camry talked about his race plans and his mindset to win at all costs as the NASCAR season begins. As the race was rained out Sunday and postponed until Monday, Hamlin spoke on “FOX RaceDay” about his strategy on the track.
Hamlin is a driver for Joe Gibbs Racing and co-owner of 23XI Racing with Michael Jordan. Joe Gibbs will field four drivers and 23XI will field two drivers.

When asked who he would push among his team members in a given situation, Hamlin answered, “Who has the most momentum and I think I can clear too.” “I don’t have much time left to play. I have to do whatever I have to do to get another win.”
Hamlin said earlier in the interview that he takes more risks in the Daytona 500 than in any other race. He said he separates the Daytona 500 from other races because he’s not interested in collecting stage points, he strives to win.

The win marks Hamlin’s 52nd career win. Last season, he finished 17th at Daytona, won at Kansas and helped advance to the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs.
He finished in 5th place, narrowly missing out on advancing to the Championship 4. A NASCAR championship is the only trophy missing from Hamlin’s cabinet.
Sunday’s race was postponed to Monday due to bad weather.

First, the Xfinity Series will hold the Daytona race at 11 a.m. ET. The event can be viewed on FS1.
