MSNBC host Joe Scarborough said Tuesday on “Morning Joe” that Republicans who support former President Donald Trump have fallen into a “death cult of American democracy.”
Scarborough said, “These are attacks on America. These are not just attacks on Joe Biden. These are attacks on America, and in December 2015 Donald Trump appeared on our show and attacked America. He has joined in since he said leaders are as bad as Vladimir Putin, who openly murders his opponents.”
He continued, “There are few words. The far right has weirdos, freaks, insurrectionists, radicals. They are not right now. They are Trump death worshipers for American democracy. And such… It’s very grotesque to make comparisons, it’s very grotesque to compare America to Russia, it’s very grotesque to compare Trump to Navalny. Trump flies around in a 757, lives in a golden skyscraper. He was living at Mar-a-Lago when Nablany was poisoned and died in the penal colony. All of this is so grotesque.”
Scarborough added, “And what’s really shocking is that this is a right-wing weirdo congressman from Louisiana or Iowa. This is the Republican candidate for the next president of the United States in 2024, and the Republican Party is aligned. “America is hell,” he says. We will destroy America. We believe that electing this fraudster who seeks to undermine the American rule of law and American democracy is just like Russia and what Trump has been doing since 2015. I would say ”
