New York Attorney General Letitia James has asked the Colorado Supreme Court to force a cake company to decorate cakes for transgender customers.
James weighed in on the transgender cake debate Thursday in a message to X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Masterpiece Cake Shop, a bakery in Colorado, refused to make a cake for a customer it knew was to celebrate a new arrival.The bakery has discriminated against LGBTQ+ people before, and I We are asking the state Supreme Court to stop this transphobic discrimination,” James said.
“It’s not complicated. Denying service to someone just because of who they are is discrimination and it’s illegal.” she added. “I will always fight for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community and communities that face discrimination, hate, and all kinds of other things.”
colorado court Said In October, transgender woman Autumn Scardina planned to file a lawsuit against Masterpiece Cake Shop owner Jack Phillips. Phillips refused to make a cake to celebrate Scardina’s gender transition. The U.S. Supreme Court previously sided with homosexuals when Phillips refused to make a cake to celebrate same-sex marriages.
James faced some backlash online for the post.
“Leave Jack alone. Jack serves everyone, but does not express every message requested. Government officials should strive to protect free speech. We shouldn’t go to the trouble of forcing courts to punish people who disagree with our views.” answered Kristen Wagoner, CEO and President of Alliance Defending Freedom.

“The obsession with ruining this man’s life because he refused to support what he recognized as sinful behavior is religious and irrational. It only makes sense in that respect.” Ta. Another critic.
Mr. James is best known for winning a civil lawsuit against former President Donald Trump, who was accused of defrauding insurance companies and banks by overestimating the value of real estate. Trump, his sons, and the Trump Organization were fined $364 million by a judge and ordered to cease operating in New York state for three years.
