Tim Scott says Biden should start ‘apology tour’ at State of the Union address

Sen. Tim Scott (R.C.) said President Biden should launch an “apology tour” during Thursday’s State of the Union address.

“I hope…President Biden starts his apology tour tonight,” Scott said. Said He spoke in an interview with host Joe Kernen on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” “We apologize for ‘Bidenomics,’ which has devastated the average American. We apologize for the chaos and crime in our streets. We apologize for opening our borders, which has resulted in countless deaths across this country.”

Scott is speculated to be former President Trump’s top choice to be his running mate. The South Carolina Republican also ran as a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024, but withdrew from the race in November.

“He ran away and he was OK,” President Trump said of Scott at a rally in South Carolina last month. “He’s a respectable guy. But he got away, did well, and when he came out, he supported me, and he’s an agent. He’s the best I’ve ever been. She is the greatest surrogate mother I have ever seen.”

In an interview with CNBC, Kernen asked Scott if he knew anything about who Trump’s running mate would be, to which Scott replied, “I don’t have any inside information.”

“I hope he chooses a vice president who is strong on the border, good for the economy, who understands the inner workings of government, and who frankly puts the American people over American politics,” Scott responded.

Scott too Posted A clip of his interview on CNBC on X (the platform formerly known as Twitter).

“Tonight in the State of the Union, President Biden should apologize for Bidennomics, crime on our streets, and wide open borders,” Scott posted.
