Donald Trump More than Twice as Popular as Mitch McConnell

Former President Donald Trump is 43 points more popular among Republicans than Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), according to a recent Morning Consult poll.

Republicans’ support for Trump over McConnell confirms the success of Trump’s America First movement, which McConnell largely opposes.

McConnell announced in February that he would step down as Senate minority leader at the end of his term, citing health issues and an incident during which he froze during a news conference.
