Rowdy mob attacks man at Randall’s Island migrant shelter in latest tent city violence

A mob was arrested early Monday at the Randall Island immigrant shelter after a man was allegedly gang-beaten at a makeshift facility in Manhattan, police said.

Five men, believed to be migrants, detained in a large tent city have been charged with assault after allegedly jumping off a 24-year-old victim who was eating in a bunk around 1:45 a.m., police said. Ta.

The accused thugs, Howard Ochoa Olivero (27 years old), Jose Manuel Maza (29 years old), Jose Scuela (20 years old), Xavier Pacheco (32 years old), Carlos Maiz Betancourt (23 years old) ) were all charged with third-degree assault.

Law enforcement officials said a security guard at the facility may also have been injured in the scuffle.

The incident is just the latest violence at migrant shelters and facilities across the five boroughs, including a fatal stabbing on Jan. 6 during a dispute over a woman on the grounds of Randalls Island.

Police have also launched a manhunt for an immigrant who stabbed another asylum seeker during a brawl outside a Hell’s Kitchen hotel over the weekend.

The victim of the scuffle, another immigrant who was staying at the converted Walton Hotel, is in stable condition.

Last week, federal authorities raided a home in the Bronx. There, groups of immigrants with guns were occupying illegally and terrorizing the neighborhood, including the Torren de Aragua gang.

On January 27, a group of despicable immigrants, including reputed members of the violent Venezuelan gang Torren de Aragua, brazenly attacked two New York City police officers in Times Square. More than six people were arrested.

Since spring 2022, more than 185,000 migrants have flooded into the Big Apple after entering the U.S. from Mexico’s southern border, according to City Hall.

To date, nearly 65,000 people have been placed in city care across the five boroughs in renovated hotels, temporary shelters, and repurposed buildings such as churches and shuttered schools, officials said. It is said that he continues to receive this.

The migrant tent city on Randall Island has been a source of trouble for the NYPD, including a fatal stabbing in January.
