A Columbia University graduate student went viral after telling members of the media that protesters were at risk of death or serious illness unless authorities delivered food and water.

Asked about Columbia University’s role in providing food access to students occupying Hamilton Hall, a campus building, the student told reporters, “First of all, we’re not paying for a meal plan here.” “We are saying that we have an obligation to provide meals to students who have passed away.”

The student is reported to be instructor Johanna King Slutsky, a Ph.D. candidate at Columbia University, national review.

“I think ultimately it comes down to what kind of community and obligation Columbia University feels to its students,” King-Slutsky said. “Do you want your students to die of dehydration, starvation, or become seriously ill, even if they disagree with you?”

She continued: “If the answer is no, then we should allow the basics — I mean, we’re on an Ivy League campus, so that’s weird to say — but this is not what we want. It’s like basic humanitarian aid that people would appreciate.”Do you have a glass of water?” ”

“Columbia students who have occupied campus buildings are demanding food and water as part of their basic human rights,” wrote Outkick founder Clay Travis. “Really.”

“These are not the words of a serious person, much less an argument,” wrote Professor Nicholas Christakis of Yale University. “This is the way someone who has never been challenged to defend his or her opinion with facts and reason speaks. This person thinks they are winning the battle of ideas just by articulating their desires.” It’s people. People who aren’t taught in universities.”

“All good revolutionaries know that they must provide snacks,” liberal commentator Joan Carducci wrote of X.

“That this ends with ‘But Grubhub’ may be the greatest commentary on the times we live in,” Carducci added.

“Her entire biography on Columbia’s website is about seeing everything through a Marxist lens,” conservative commentator and show host Liz Wheeler wrote. “She’s a literal communist and she’s whining that she wants someone to bring her lunch.”

A reporter asked students to explain their food and water requirements. “It’s like saying, ‘We want to be revolutionaries, we want to take over this building, now please bring us some food,'” the reporter said.

“No one asked them to bring anything,” she replied. “We ask them not to stop bringing essential humanitarian aid.”

Hamilton Hall on Columbia University’s campus was cleared of protesters by New York City police around 11pm ET on Tuesday night, nearly 24 hours after it was occupied by students.
