Former President Donald Trump vowed to “keep radical left-wing gender ideology away from” children during a roundtable discussion in Michigan on Saturday afternoon.

Trump’s comments were compared to comments made by President Joe Biden about transgender people.
Biden: post X, from March, said people who identify as transgender are “made in the image of God,” adding that they “deserve respect and dignity.”
The Biden administration released revised Title IX rules in April, which will take effect on Aug. 1, 2024. The rules avoid using the word “transgender,” but could be interpreted to protect transgender people.

Throughout the document, the term “gender identity” is used to describe specific behaviors that the new rules will force all public schools (not just universities, but all publicly funded schools) to comply with, or risk lawsuits and loss of federal funding.
The revised rules define sex discrimination as based on a person’s gender identity, as well as sexual orientation. The rules also say schools cannot segregate students on the basis of sex, but do not specifically say that boys should be allowed in girls’ bathrooms.
