DETROIT, Mich. — A seventh-grader told Breitbart News on Friday that former President Donald Trump is popular among young people because inflation under President Joe Biden’s administration has led to higher prices for candy like Airheads.
“My friends love Trump,” Joshua Adler, who attended Turning Point Action’s People’s Rally in Detroit, Michigan, told Breitbart News about his Wisconsin classmate.
Asked if he thought Trump had become more popular among young people in recent years, Adler replied “definitely,” before sharing an anecdote about how he and a classmate were personally hit hard by inflation under Biden.
“When I went to the Sports Center in Eau Claire, Airheads were 50 cents now,” he said, “and they used to be 25 cents. [cents]now 50 [cents]. “
“So you airheads are affected by inflation too?” Breitbart News asked, to which Adler nodded.
“Does that make Trump more attractive?” Breitbart News asked, to which the seventh grader replied: “Yes, it does.”
When asked what he would say to Trump if he could speak to him directly, Adler told him he was “GOAT’d” by the 45th president, adding that he “wishes me the best of luck in the election.”
Adler told Breitbart News he was looking forward to hearing from Trump, who is scheduled to address supporters in Detroit the following day.
After being asked what he would like to hear from Trump, the seventh-grader said he wanted to hear Trump say, “We can save this country and it’s not too late.”
“It’s not too late to save my generation,” Adler said.
