What had betrayed her?
A Florida woman was arrested after officers discovered her during a traffic stop and found her in possession of large amounts of crack, methamphetamine and pills in a ziplock bag labeled “bag of drugs,” police said.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Lauren Riley, 41, was sitting in the passenger seat of a friend’s car when she was pulled over in St. Petersburg at 11:30 a.m. Saturday for not wearing her seat belt.
According to the police report, officers observed Riley rummaging around on the passenger side floor and found small pieces of charred aluminum foil. Conclusive evidence.
Officers asked her to step out of the vehicle and searched her purse, where they found a container marked “bag of narcotics,” police said.
Inside the pouch were allegedly 3.25 grams of cocaine, 1.75 grams of crack and 1 gram of crystal meth, as advertised.
Police said the habitual speeder, who has a weakness for stealth, was also in possession of medication including 4.5 tablets of the anti-anxiety drug alprazolam, 1.5 tablets of an opioid and two tablets of dextroamphetamine, a stimulant used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Also found in the bag were allegedly drug paraphernalia, including a metal spoon, a syringe and four glass pipes.
Riley was charged with possession of drugs and paraphernalia. She has since been released from the Pinellas County Jail, online records show.
The driver, whose name has not been released, was arrested for having an open container of alcoholic beverage in his vehicle.
