Walz Inflated Background, Claimed Harvard Was Behind China Classes

Democratic vice presidential candidate and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) was recently found to have exaggerated his background and made it appear as if Harvard University was behind an educational program he attended in China.

a Report from Washington Free Beacon The investigation found that Waltz falsely claimed to have been “selected by the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce as an outstanding young Nebraskan,” and implied that Harvard University was behind the education program and selected Waltz for the “opportunity” to teach in China through the university’s program. The program, “World Teach,” was founded in 1986 by several Harvard graduates, according to the organization’s LinkedIn. page.

Both lies are mentioned in his biography. Archived When he ran for Congress in 2006, he published a version of it on his campaign website.

Previously, Waltz had falsely claimed his children were conceived through in vitro fertilization (IVF), claimed he served with weapons “at war” and claimed he retired as a “master sergeant” when in fact he did so at the level of sergeant major.

“After earning his teaching certificate, Harvard offered Waltz the opportunity to gain a new perspective on global education by teaching in the People’s Republic of China,” according to Waltz’s biography, which is archived on the website. “Working in China from 1989 to 1990, Waltz was part of the first group of government-certified American educators to teach in Chinese high schools.”

The outlet noted that “the same thing was said” on Waltz’s congressional resume, and that a 2018 version of his resume suggested he had taught in China through the WorldTeach program, “a Harvard University program.”

The program in question was the WorldTeach Program, a nonprofit organization founded in 1986 by Harvard undergraduates, including Nobel Prize-winning economist Michael Kremer. The program was funded by the Phillips Brooks House Institute at Harvard University, but Harvard Crimson WorldTeach is described as a “student-run community service group” that promotes volunteerism among Harvard students and provides funding to various nonprofit organizations. WorldTeach, which is currently on hiatus, does not appear to have been an official Harvard program.

2001 article The Harvard Gazette article noted that WorldTeach began as a “student-run organization,” was “sponsored by the Center for International Development (CID),” and was an “independent, nonprofit organization.”

WorldTeach began 15 years ago as a student-run organization at Phillips Brooks House. WorldTeach is supported by the Center for International Development (CID), but is now an independent nonprofit. The Center has covered the costs of eight Harvard students participating in WorldTeach’s summer undergraduate internship, which it has run for two years.

People took to social media to respond to Walz’s “yet another lie.”

“What?!” Donald Trump Jr. post About X. “Another lie from Stolen Valor @Tim_Walz. This loser has claimed for decades that he was selected into a teaching program at Harvard…the problem is, he made it up!!!”

“If I had nickels for every lie this guy tells, I could pay off the US debt singlehandedly,” one person said. Written.

“Tim Waltz is the very epitome of a pathological liar,” said Matthew Boyle, Washington bureau chief for Breitbart News. Written“He doesn’t have to lie about these things. He just does it impulsively.”
