Charlaman the God harshly criticized President Biden, calling him the “donkey of the day” after the president briefly wore a Trump campaign hat at a Pennsylvania fire station.
“Today's Donkey for Thursday, September 12th is President Joe Biden.” Charlaman said On his show, The Breakfast Club.
Biden casually tipped someone's Trump hat during a visit to a fire station in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday, the 23rd anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
White House Senior Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates said Biden spoke about national unity after the attacks and called for the country to regain unity. As part of that gesture, Biden “handed his hat to a Trump supporter, who said that in the same spirit, the president should also wear a Trump hat.”
President Trump has been criticized for briefly wearing the hat following Tuesday's presidential debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Harris.
Speaking on his radio show Thursday, Charlaman criticized Biden for wearing the hat, given the close race.
“This election could hinge on just a few votes, which would be bad for Democrats because Trump is going to contest the results. We know that. Don't be surprised if that happens,” he said.
He later added that Democrats need to see significant turnout in this election because they know Trump will run a close race, and questioned whether Biden will be able to demonstrate bipartisanship given the close race.
“You call him a threat to democracy. So if he is a threat to democracy, why are you dressing like you're endorsing him to be president in 2024?” Charmagne said.
The Trump campaign was quick to respond to the incident, thanking Biden for his support and saying that Harris performed so badly in the debate that even Biden had joined the Trump campaign.
During the show, Charmagne noted the transition between Biden leaving office and Harris becoming the party's nominee, echoing Harris' campaign statement that “we're not going back” and saying Biden wearing the hat means Democrats have to “keep him hidden.”
“Look, I'm all for bipartisan unity, but not when you're trying to win an election. Someone tell President Biden that this is not the Republican Party he created. This is MAGA,” he said, later adding, “President Biden might think MAGA stands for Make America Geriatric Again.”
Charmagne concluded his remarks by saying Biden should “act like a vice president” and “just stay quiet” in the remaining days until the election.
