Alina Habba, a senior adviser to former President Donald Trump, has launched a campaign to rally Arab support in the key battleground state of Michigan.
Hubba, who is also a lawyer on Trump's legal team, is a first-generation American: Both of his parents are from Iraq.
Haba has been crisscrossing Michigan since Thursday, taking part in nearly a dozen events and speaking at gatherings in the Arab American community, including Indian American and Chaldean American communities.
“As someone who understands how close-knit and faith-based these communities are, I'm incredibly proud to be here with Michigan's Arab American community,” Haba told Fox News Digital. “Many of us have roots in countries where we fled persecution and gained freedom, and we now cherish that freedom.”

“It's vital that we speak out to protect freedoms in America,” Haba told Fox News Digital.
“We cannot allow our country to go down the same dangerous path,” Habba added. “Donald Trump is the only option that will ensure our values and way of life are preserved.”
The Detroit metropolitan area is home to the largest Iraqi population outside of Iraq, estimated at 187,000.
On Friday, Habba toured the area with the Chaldea Foundation. He also spoke to children at area schools and met with local leaders.

“The Chaldean community is driven by strong ties of faith and family,” Haba told Fox News Digital, adding that Trump's policies are appealing to them and “resonate with independents, moderates and traditional Republicans, especially in battleground states like Michigan.”
