Dems, media blame Trump for second assassination attempt, while GOP points to left’s inflammatory rhetoric

The second assassination attempt on Republican presidential candidate and former president Donald Trump has drawn a range of reactions from the left, from denial to condemnation.

Democrats, mainstream media and even Democratic presidential candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris have been reluctant to confirm reports that shots rang out on a Florida golf course on Sunday were in fact linked to Trump.

Hours after the second assassination attempt was confirmed, Harris released a statement calling it “Possible assassination attempt.

“Do any of us have to survive?”

Trump's opponent said he was “deeply troubled” by the incident and noted the facts were still being gathered.

“I condemn political violence and we must all play our part to ensure this incident does not lead to further violence,” she said.

Harris added that she was “grateful” that the former president was unharmed.

Harris' critics were quick to hit back at the vice president, saying in 2018:Ellen Shaw.

During the interview, Ellen DeGeneres asked Harris, “If you had to be locked in an elevator with President Trump, Mike Pence or Jeff Sessions, who would you choose?”

Harris responded, “Should any of us survive?”

Harris continues to question whether Sunday's attack in West Palm Beach, Florida, was a second assassination attempt on Trump, but her supporters and surrogates have blamed the former president for the incident. Democrats and left-leaning media have repeatedly said Trump's rhetoric is divisive.

MSNBC anchor Alex Witt Elise Jordan, a political analyst at the network, asked if he thought the Trump campaign would advise him to “go ton.”[e] Will he tone down the “rhetoric” and “violence,” or is that “unusual for a former president?”

NBC's Lester Holt They also seem to be pointing their fingers at Trump and his campaign.

“Today's assassination attempt comes at a time of increasingly violent rhetoric within the election campaign itself,” he said on a recent program.

Holt alleged that Trump's running mate, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, had made “unfounded claims about Haitian immigrants in Ohio” that had sparked “new bomb threats” in the region.

ABC News “World News Tonight” The show covered the assassination attempt during a story about “false allegations” about Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, and accused Trump and Vance of spreading so-called rumors that it claimed led to recent violent threats against the Haitian immigrant community.

Following the latest assassination attempt, Harris supporters expressed “exhaustion” from the “drama”.

Conservatives have accused Democrats of inciting violence by repeatedly calling Trump a dictator.

Arizona Congressman Joseph Chaplik (Republican) stated“President Trump is facing a second assassination threat in two months, and the left-wing media is blaming him.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (Republican) Announced The state announced Sunday it would launch a separate investigation into the second assassination attempt.

“The public has a right to know the truth about the attempted assassin and how he managed to come within 500 yards of a former president and current Republican candidate,” DeSantis said.
