Date Set for Joe Biden, Donald Trump Meeting at the White House

Outgoing President Joe Biden and President-elect Donald Trump will meet at the White House on Wednesday morning to discuss the transition of power between their respective administrations.

UPI report White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced Saturday that Biden has invited Trump to an 11 a.m. meeting in the Oval Office.

The meeting will also discuss the transition of power from the Biden administration to the incoming Trump administration.

Mr. Biden has already spoken by phone with Mr. Trump and congratulated him on his victory over Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee who was pushed aside by his own party in July.

Biden spoke from the Rose Garden about a phone call scheduled for Thursday, UPI reported.

“I promised him that I would lead the entire administration and work with his team to ensure a peaceful and orderly transition of power. That's what the American people deserve.”

Trump, who served as the 45th president of the United States, will also become the 47th president, making him the second president to serve two non-consecutive terms. The other was Grover Cleveland, who served as the 22nd and 24th president.

Trump won a landslide victory in Tuesday's presidential election, winning at least 301 electoral votes, beating Vice President Kamala Harris' threshold of 270.
