California Bay Area city considers ordinance blocking local resources from supporting Trump mass deportations

The Redwood, California, City Council voted 4-3 in favor of asking staff to draft an ordinance that would limit the city's cooperation with immigration authorities.

“Council voted 4-3 to direct staff to enact an ordinance restricting the use of city resources to work with ICE as a future agenda item in the first quarter of 2025. Thank you, RWC !” City Councilman Chris Sterken said in a Facebook post.

“The results of the national and state elections have brought fear and anxiety to many of us. As your representative, I am committed to making Redwood City a safer and more inclusive community for all. I assure you that we will do our best,” Starken said in a Facebook post earlier this month.
