An Arizona pastor has been arrested for secretly filming a woman using his church's bathroom after the camera fell from a dryer, police said.
Arturo Laguna, pastor of Casa de Adoracion in Phoenix, allegedly installed a recording device in the church bathroom last fall and recorded the women in October and early November, police said. Ru Get it on Fox 10 Phoenix.
Police say the perverted preacher was first arrested after a mother discovered the camera while changing her baby's diaper inside the women's bathroom of a strip mall church.
Investigators later found a screenshot of Laguna adjusting the camera in the bathroom. When police questioned Laguna, he confessed to installing the camera in October.
The newspaper said authorities searched the camera's SD card and found four short videos of an adult woman using the toilet.
The pastor was arrested in November and charged with multiple counts of voyeurism, which is a felony, in Arizona.
He was charged last week and is scheduled to appear in court again on January 9th.
The newspaper has contacted Casa de Adoracion for comment.
In October, Laguna, who led a congregation of about 100 mostly immigrants, was allegedly photographing women. told the Associated Press about his faith community and the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
