James Woods’ home survives California fires; Jennifer Garner, Molly Sims’ also among celebrity homes spared

James Woods was one of the celebrities whose home survived the California wildfires.

The actor initially feared his home was lost in the fire that broke out in the Los Angeles suburb of Pacific Palisades on Tuesday, but Woods shared a positive update when he returned home after being evacuated.

“A miracle happened,” Woods wrote on X (formerly Twitter) along with a video of the view from the deck.

In the video Woods shared, he panned the camera to “everything below,” showing scorched ground and buildings reduced to rubble as smoke continued to rise in the distance.

“That's Paris High School,” he said, photographing the wreckage on the charter school's campus.

“That's our neighbor's house,” Woods said as he zoomed in on the badly damaged house.

The video continued as Woods filmed the young man pouring water onto bushes and tree siding.

“Francisco, the father we saved, is now putting out the fire on our hillside,” he said. In a previous X post, Woods described how he helped elderly neighbors plan their evacuations.

Woods gave viewers a 360-degree view of the destruction, then zoomed back in to a neighbor's home.

“Hey, look at this,” Woods said. “oh my god.”

Woods thanked fans for their support in a follow-up post.

“I've gotten so many great messages from everyone,” he said. “I’m so happy and grateful, but to be honest, this whole area looks like the dark side of the moon.

“It's been such a fundamentally heartbreaking and upsetting event that it's almost difficult to celebrate the good news that our family survived.”

In addition to Woods, many other stars have revealed that their homes survived the devastating wildfires.

Steve Guttenberg revealed that his home was spared damage as he toured the aftermath of the Palisades fire.

During an interview with Associated Pressthe actor shared mixed feelings about how his home survived while so many other properties were destroyed.

“I woke up this morning and was really conscious of my mental state and my mental health because I've seen so much tragedy in the last three days,” Guttenberg said. He told the outlet that his home has electricity but no running water.

Guttenberg thanked God that his block was safe, but as tens of thousands of people were evacuated, strong winds caused fires to sweep across Los Angeles, destroying homes and clogging roads. He said about 20 homes in the community were burned “pretty badly.”

He told The Associated Press that the fire was the worst he had seen in his life. Guttenberg returned to the neighborhood to help those left behind in the relief effort. The “Police Academy” star moved cars to clear roads, handed out food and helped neighbors from his home.

“I've seen people scared, people in wheelchairs, mothers and fathers trying to find their children, people having anxiety and panic attacks,” Guttenberg said.

“All the houses behind me burned down and my family had a great time there with friends and family,” he added. “There's just so much pain going on right now. We're doing everything we can to ease the pain.”

Guttenberg said he's unsure how the film and television industry will help at the beginning of awards season.

“Everyone is going to do what normal people do: help each other, give each other food and water, help each other in their backyards and front yards,” he said. “Even if someone is an actor, a producer, a writer, a director, we're all just people. … People may be able to donate to some kind of fund at some point. But , I want to be a good neighbor now.”

Bill Hader's home was one of the only homes on his street to survive the Palisades Fire.

On Saturday, a representative for the actor confirmed to Fox News Digital that the actor's property is “safe and intact.”

Meanwhile, Hader returned to his home in Pacific Palisades on Thursday and surprised a local television crew by offering to help the team cover the wildfires.

“A unique moment in LA on Thursday with #PalisadesFire road closures,” Haskell wrote. “The resident trying to get in came to the news van as if he were part of our team, wanted to help with the story, wanted to ride with us. Then he pulled down his mask and smiled. And it was Bill Hader!”

“It couldn't have been better,” Haskell added of the actor.
