Two people arrested for violating curfew near Vice President Kamala Harris’ California home amid wildfires

Two people were arrested near Vice President Kamala Harris' Brentwood home as the neighborhood was placed in an evacuation zone due to threats from the Palisades Fire.

Los Angeles police arrested two people around 4:30 a.m. Saturday on suspicion of violating a curfew. NBC Los Angeles reported. Citing sources.

“They probably had no idea where they were,” a law enforcement source told the program.

Harris' neighborhood is in a mandatory evacuation zone as the deadly fire moves east toward a densely populated area of ​​Los Angeles.

A 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew was imposed in areas affected by the Palisades and Eaton fires, including areas with multimillion-dollar properties owned by celebrities.

The two suspects were not arrested at Harris' property, the newspaper said.

Harris' husband, Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff, bought the house in 2012. depending on town and country.

The four-bedroom home is valued at $4.79 million, according to real estate listings.

At least five people were killed in the deadly Palisades fire that broke out last Tuesday morning.

More than 23,600 acres have been burned and the fire is only 11 percent contained, authorities announced Saturday night.

The fire spread to Mandeville Canyon, Brentwood, and Bel Air, destroying or damaging more than 5,000 structures.

4,720 personnel and 82 crew members have been assigned to fight the fire.
