President Trump announced on January 6th that he would pardon approximately 1,500 defendants. Some of these defendants had been in prison for four years, some were on trial, and some had not yet been tried.
Steve Baker, an investigative journalist with Blaze Media, was one of these defendants.
“I'm a little emotional about what's going on,” Baker said in a live reaction video to the pardon. “A pardon or commutation from President Trump will not only impact my life, but the lives of hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people who have been far worse affected by the weaponization of the Biden Justice Department. ”.
“A lot of other people lost everything. They lost their homes, they lost their families, they lost their wives, they lost their husbands, they lost their jobs, they lost a lot of their careers. And the excessive use of weapons, the excessive prosecution, And because of the excessive sentences of unarmed people, we should do nothing more than walk through an open door,” Baker continued, tearfully adding, “Thank you, President Trump.” .
Liz Wheeler of “The Liz Wheeler Show” works with Baker and couldn't be proud of him.
“I work with this man at Blaze Media, and let me tell you, he is a good human being and he downplays the suffering that has been caused to his family. He downplays the pain his family went through when they learned that Mr. is thinking about other people in this situation,” Wheeler says.
