Attorney General Pam Bondi announces DOJ lawsuit against New York, Hochul and state AG James over ‘sanctuary’ status

The Justice Department announced Wednesday it was suing New York state over policies that would limit cooperation with federal immigration enforcement.

“This is a new DOJ,” Bondi announced. “New York has chosen to prioritize illegal aliens over American citizens. We'll stop. We'll stop today.”

“You know, we sued Illinois,” Bondy added. “New York didn't listen. So now you're next.”

Last week, the Justice Department urged federal judges to immediately overturn sanctuary policies in Illinois and Chicago, with state and local officials saying “a barrier to federal enforcement of immigration laws and discriminating against federal immigration enforcement.” He claims that.
