Authorities have launched a homicide investigation after a 23-year-old University of California student was found dead in an off-campus apartment.

Zhuang arrived at the house with “male companions” the night before her death, Modica said. The same man was seen in video footage of him climbing through a window on the second floor of Zhuang the afternoon before she was found dead.

A $20,000 reward is provided for information that leads to an arrest.
“Mengan's young life and bright future ended early in a brutal and tragic way,” Los Angeles Board of Supervisors Chairman Kathryn Berger said in a statement. “Mengan's loved ones and the entire community deserve justice. I am committed to doing everything in my power to make it happen.”
