Popular spring break activity lands American tourist in hospital on vacation

A popular spring break activity caused a Tennessee woman to land in hospital after an unusual accident felt like she had been hit by a car.

Stockard enjoyed her visit when she slipped and fell off the dolphin and landed on the animal fin, she told GMA.

“The dolphin on my left was swimming a little faster than the dolphin on my right, so that made me unbalanced,” Stockard said.

“It hit me so hard that I felt like I was in a car accident,” Stockard told GMA. “I started to panic, which blew the wind out of me.”

Stockard thinks it appears he's trying to help her after the fall.

“They come, rubbed me, stop my body from swimming and are right next to me,” Stockard said.

Stockard was rushed to Montego Bay Hospital, where he suffered from a “grapefruit-sized hematoma” and needed emergency surgery. Stockard told GMA that he has sickle cell anemia. National Institutes of Health.

Stockard returned home to Tennessee on March 24, eight days after the incident, requiring additional treatment from a nearby hospital.

“Fortunately, I'm in a stable state [I’m not] All the way on my deathbed,” Stockdoll said.

Dolphin Cove did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
