Colorado District Attorney George Browler has spoken out against his state activist judge and sanctuary policies. He says that it has enabled ice activists and illegal immigrant Janet Vizuguera to avoid capture for more than a decade.
Colorado law prohibits local and state law enforcement from working with federal immigration authorities to remove illegals.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, the district attorney for Colorado's 23rd District, he said the policies promoted by Colorado Democrat Gov. Jared Police and Democrat-controlled Congress have “accepted illegal immigrants over the country's laws.”
He said the policy has hampered local and state law enforcement agencies to keep dangerous illegal offenders away from the streets.

“All local law enforcement agencies are saying “the right thing” publicly. So, “Hey, we're not federal weapons. We're not working for the ice. That's not why we were hired.” But they also say behind the scenes, “Dan, we've lost the ability to remove this criminal element from this community when creating this kind of barrier with ice.” ”
In the case of Vizguerra, who just passed a temporary ruling by a federal judge in Colorado, ensuring ICE while her case is ongoing cannot banish her, Brauler said that left and right emotions within the state allowed her to openly escape U.S. immigration law.
“To be honest, Colorado has so far moved on to the false immigration side, creating a very tolerant environment where you can be here for a long time, illegal, contact local law enforcement and be free on the streets,” he said. “So it's not a shock to me that there's someone like this in the system.”
He said he was sympathetic to Vizguerra, who has to leave after establishing life and family in Colorado, but he said, “We will either become a country and a nation ruled by laws that hold each other accountable, or whatever the emotions and politics of the day, we will be led by emotions and guidance.”

“It doesn't seem like it's America I was meant to be, and I grew up in,” he continued. “We must admit that the first step for those who argue that they want to be Americans cannot violate American law. She fits that bill.”
In addition to the Colorado judge's ruling, Browler also questioned a series of other rulings by federal judges that hampered the Trump administration's immigration actions around the country.

He said, “It appears to be a judicial discretion abuse to issue a decision by one district court judge at a handpicked venue by those seeking to get the results they want, a nationwide ban that freezes the federal government from border to border and coast to coast.”
He pointed to cases such as D.C. Circuit Judge James Boasberg. James Boasberg recently issued a temporary restraining order blocking the Trump administration from using alien enemy laws to deport groups of suspected immigrant gang members. By issuing temporary restraining orders rather than permanent or temporary injunctions, Brauler said activist judges would ensure their awards are appealed and effectively freeze the review by the appeal court.

“If you think that what a judge should do at the federal level is that something should be banned, then they should limit that order to their jurisdiction and let this rest of the people play around the country,” he said.
Back in Colorado, Brauler stressed that the “final line” is to “develop them by God, change them, change and amend Congress, if you don't like immigration law. But the answer “I don't agree to federal immigration law” is that for those who insist on sticking to the rules of the law, it cannot create a local organization.

“The Democrat-controlled progressive legislature here has a bill waiting to ban all lawyers in the criminal justice system, joking from sharing information about judges, prosecutors, defense counsels, interns from my office, no joke, no matter what, iced individuals.”
“That's where Colorado goes,” he said. “They don't make us safer. They don't make us better. They don't make us fairer. And they're laughing at the rule of law.”
