Andrew Cuomo will pay for potential suit against sexual misconduct accuser — after ex-guv’s defense cost taxpayers’ whopping $60M

Andrew Cuomo picks up the tab for his threatened honour-defeating lawsuit against a former aide who accused him of sexual harassment, he told the Post – after taxpayers fired a whopping $60 million to protect his scandal.

State law does not give Cuomo the opportunity to pursue legal action against Charlotte Bennett.

“The answer is no,” Atzpaldi said of whether Cuomo would ask the state to pay for a potential lawsuit.

Bennett recently concluded a $450,000 settlement lawsuit.

New York taxpayers still cough $60 million as New York taxpayers argued that the state should pay legal fees for a flock of scandals chasing the administration since resigning from dishonor in 2021.

The massive costs include around $18 million to defend Cuomo for lawsuits filed by former aides such as Bennett and state employees, accusing him of sexual harassment.

Cuomo denied any fraud.

Bennett ended his lawsuit against Empire last week for a $450,000 settlement, but Cuomo’s attorneys quickly filed a summon in a Manhattan courthouse.

The potential lawsuit affected City Secretary Brad Lander, who also runs the Democratic mayoral primary, and held a press conference near city hall, demanding that Cuomo be made clear whether he or the taxpayer pay it.

“Andrew, will this new honour-damaging lawsuit be paid by you or are you going to force New York taxpayers to pay for your additional legal harassment against those who are already sexually harassing?” Lander said Monday.

Azzopardi responded that taxes would never pay for any lawsuit.

“New York City is in crisis, and this is when a serious leader with a proven record of achievement turns it around.
