DOHA, Qatar – On Wednesday, President Trump revealed that the government of Qatar plans to purchase the “largest jet in Boeing history.”
During a signing event at Emir’s official residence in Doha, Trump expressed optimism about the deal, noting that the wealthy nation intends to invest over $200 billion in American businesses, with a significant portion—around $160 billion—earmarked for aircraft.
“Tomorrow, I’ll see some of this in action… It’s going to be an aviation fair,” Trump shared after meeting with Qatar’s leaders in their modern capital along the Persian Gulf.
He emphasized the “very special relationship” with Qatar, drawing comparisons between the Qatari monarchy and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, humorously describing both as “tall and handsome.”
Qatar has also offered Trump an upgraded Boeing 747-8, valued at about $400 million, prompting mixed reactions from both sides of the aisle.
The White House indicated that jets stationed in the U.S. wouldn’t be highlighted during this visit.
