Harvard University Faces Criticism Over International Student Enrollment
During a recent episode of Newsnation’s “Cuomo,” Professor Alan Dershowitz, a professor emeritus at Harvard, expressed his concerns about the high number of foreign students at the university.
Guest host Brian Entin pointed out that the Department of Homeland Security had given Harvard a 72-hour deadline, raising issues related to international students in its disciplinary records.
Dershowitz confirmed this, stating, “I think so,” and went on to emphasize that there are indeed too many foreign students enrolled in American universities. He argued that Harvard should prioritize expanding opportunities for American students over generating revenue from international tuition.
Entin remarked that while American students might receive scholarships and partial tuition waivers, international students typically pay full tuition. He suggested that Harvard appears more focused on profit from these international students. “So Harvard just wants money, right?” he asked.
Dershowitz agreed, noting that the Trump administration’s policies regarding foreign students should be more specific and not broadly target all foreign nationals, including students from Israel.
