Wisconsin man charged with creating fake Trump threat letter to have migrant deported

A man in Milwaukee is facing serious allegations, including threatening the life of President Donald Trump and trying to deport another individual. The accused, Demetric D. Scott, allegedly posed as a 54-year-old illegal immigrant named Ramon Morales Reyes while sending a threatening letter intended for Trump.

Scott is dealing with several charges, primarily linked to the threats made, which eyewitnesses corroborate. Interestingly, Morales Reyes has a criminal past that includes felony assault and other related offenses, as noted by the Department of Homeland Security.

On May 21, local law enforcement, including the Wisconsin Attorney General’s office, received a written threat aimed at Trump, which also mentioned blowing up the White House. The letter contained a striking declaration expressing frustration over deportations and a feeling that it was time for Trump to face consequences.

According to detectives, the letters in question showed similarities in handwriting, all featuring Morales Reyes’ information written in blue ink. Yet, there’s a remarkable twist: Morales Reyes reportedly does not have a good command of English, which raises questions about his ability to have written them. Initially, it seemed he might have penned a letter declaring that Mexicans would “self-deport” after killing Trump.

During a search of Scott’s prison quarters, authorities discovered a blue pen and a note suggesting he sought contact information for the Wisconsin Attorney General’s office. This was in addition to other correspondence linked to Morales Reyes and potentially compromising Scott’s position.

Scott, seemingly unfazed upon hearing about Morales Reyes’ fallout from these events, claimed over the phone that his counterpart “gets what he deserves.” As investigations continue, it appears Morales Reyes remains in custody at Dodge County Jail and could face deportation proceedings.

In light of the ongoing threat investigation, a senior official from the Department of Homeland Security has indicated that the individual in question was found to be illegally present in the country and has a criminal record. There’s a court date set for Morales Reyes on June 4.
