Reports indicate that a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) employee, specifically mentioned as Senator Sardo Carbajal, was taken to an emergency room after being struck by a rock during a protest on Thursday. Photos released from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) show the employee with injuries to his left hand, blood visible both before and after the incident.
It seems that during a recent operation involving a criminal search warrant at a cannabis farm, tensions escalated between ICE agents and protesters. The situation became chaotic when a mob reportedly turned aggressive after a rock was thrown at the Senator, who had apparently shown his business card to the crowd.
ICE operations at the cannabis farm resulted in a significant number of arrests, with reports indicating that 361 individuals were apprehended. The operation also led to the rescue of 14 migrant children suspected of being victims of human trafficking and forced labor. Child labor investigations are currently underway at the federal level. Unfortunately, this incident reflects an alarming trend; ICE agents reported a staggering 700% increase in assaults against them, which they attribute to the actions of certain congressional members condoning such protests.

The owner of the cannabis facility, Glass House Farms, maintains that they have adhered to all employment practices and do not hire minors. Interestingly, some of the company’s leaders had previously supported Carbajal’s campaign financially.
