First on FOX: Tennessee GOP Sen. Marsha Blackburn wrote a letter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) on Tuesday, calling on medical schools to comply with President Donald Trump’s executive order to end diversity, equity and inclusion programs at educational institutions.
The letter reportedly took steps to hide many of the DEI resources, in contrast to removing them, following the president’s executive order.
The consumer survey found that a conservative nonprofit organization that followed the medical school response to Trump’s order on termination of the DEI, and that VUMC is taking steps to hide what’s behind password-protected web pages. In response to criticism, a VUMC spokesman told Fox News Digital that it has undergone a “full review” of the program that “revisions may be required to maintain compliance, including updates to information about websites and other public platforms.”
Vanderbilt Med Center ‘Hiding’ Dei resource is behind a password protected web page: Reports
According to updated reviews, VUMC’s Diversity and Inclusion Office website is behind password-protected web pages. It is the same resource that promotes the DEI webpage on VUMC’s medical school website, “Climate Care Is Health Care” and the school’s “First Climate Change Action and Sustainability Summit.” Other resources previously appeared to have been hidden behind password-protected web pages, such as YouTube videos about “War with the DEI,” appear to have been removed since criticism of the issue was unleashed against the schools.

“Offices such as the Health Equity Office, the Department of Diversity and Inclusion and the Department of Diversity Affairs still appear to be active,” Blackburn said in her letter. “These offices advocate for “collectively dealing with systemic inequality” and “to stand up against structural racism.” ” Among the program’s priorities was to hire “diverse biomedical researchers.”
Blackburn also said VUMC is the recipient of more than $66 million since this fiscal year. Meanwhile, Vumc has invested more than $17 million to support the “Dei and Nobling Program,” she said.
“This is just one of many examples of VUMC investing in DEI initiatives on behalf of LifeSaving Medical Research,” continued Blackburn’s letter. “In addition, VUMC’s track record in embracing harmful awakening initiatives is strict,” Blackburn added. “VUMC has previously performed sex change surgery on minors before suspending the program after public outrage.”

VUMC was investigated in 2023 by the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office amid allegations that VUMC doctors manipulate medical claims codes to avoid insurance coverage restrictions. Transgender treatment. The investigation reportedly followed a video released in 2022 that VUMC doctors have promoted transgender surgeries for minors as “a giant money maker” and showed them they would quit telling anyone who has religious objections to offering them.
“President Trump is clear about this issue. His recent executive order correctly bans DEI programs in federally funded research institutions and ends the recognition of gender identity apart from biological gender,” Blackburn concluded in her letter.
“As a beneficiary of federal funds, VUMC is responsible for working with the President’s executive order and focusing on life-saving research rather than awakening the DEI initiative. Instead of covering up VUMC’s DEI initiative, we encourage President Trump to adhere to President Donald’s efforts to be responsible for allocating taxpayer dollars.”

The senator told Fox News that “discriminatory” DEI programs like VUMC actually help “do more harm than good.” She also urged Bam to put “Tennessees first” by fully observing the president’s executive order.
In a statement to Fox News Digital on Tuesday, Vumc said, “The Vanderbilt University Medical Center has eliminated all DEI programs and is fully compliant with enforcement actions at DEI. Shortly after the administrative order was issued, VUMC began removing relevant content from internal and external websites to reflect the termination of these programs.
