Florida Candidate Calls Trump “Antichrist”
A former Marine and congressional candidate in Florida is under fire for a video in which he labels President Donald Trump the “Antichrist” and asserts that he “must be killed.” William Upham, running for Florida’s 5th Congressional District, positioned himself on social media as a prosecutor aiming to “fix a broken political system.” He expressed intentions to restore bipartisanship and empower the working class at the start of his nearly seven-minute video.
However, his tone shifted dramatically as he declared that the nation is in a spiritual crisis, claiming, perhaps somewhat dramatically, that America is “broken.” Upham went on to state, “We are led by a president who is the enemy of God,” quoting scripture and reminding viewers of his Marine oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.
Upham made bold claims, asserting that he sees Trump as unmistakably being the “Antichrist,” calling him a “false savior,” which echoed with alarming intensity throughout the video. He concluded with, “President Trump is the Antichrist. And he will be killed and sent to hell. God will triumph over evil.”
His incendiary remarks prompted immediate condemnation from the Marine Corps, which pointed out that Upham was medically discharged back in May 2025. The Corps stated, “Mr. Upham’s statements are in direct violation of the oath he has sworn to uphold and are contrary to the values of the Marine Corps.”
The U.S. Secret Service also responded, acknowledging their awareness of the comments and their investigation into any threats facing protected persons. They noted, “Due to operational security concerns, we do not discuss defense intelligence issues.” Acting Secretary of the Navy Hung Kao condemned Upham’s remarks on social media, declaring them “unacceptable” and stating that Upham no longer represents Marine values.
As this situation continues to unfold, many are left wondering about the implications of such incendiary rhetoric in the political arena.
