Tragic Incident at Goose Concert in Madison Square Garden

Connecticut-based jam band Goose was stunned to learn that a married father of two, Paul Cukor, had fallen to his death during their concert at Madison Square Garden. This tragic event occurred just after the band concluded their set on Saturday night.

The 51-year-old Cukor fell approximately 150 feet from the Chase Bridge shortly before 10 PM while Goose was performing for the second night at the iconic venue. The band expressed their shock on Instagram Sunday night, just before their sold-out performance in Central Park.

The message conveyed the band’s grief, noting, “It was devastating for us and our staff to walk off stage and find out the news. We can’t imagine how some of you felt as you left the show last night.”

Cukor, who worked as the director of operations at Smartcon Solutions, was at the concert with his wife, Kristen, to celebrate their upcoming 25th wedding anniversary. His mother, Patricia Finelli, mentioned that he had fallen while attempting to go to the bathroom.

Finelli spoke fondly of her son, referring to him as “the greatest kid in the whole world,” and highlighted his caring nature for his family.

In response to the tragedy, venue staff taped off several rows in the lower bowl where the fall happened, as shared by fans on social media.

As a tribute, Goose started their concert in Central Park with a moment of silence for Cukor. Band member Peter Anspach conveyed his condolences, emphasizing how fragile life can be and encouraging fans to support one another during difficult times.

The band deliberated on whether to proceed with their concert after the incident but ultimately decided to focus on community healing. They expressed a commitment to working with grief counselors and offering online therapy sessions for fans who might be struggling with the tragedy.
