Former President Trump got caught up in the excitement of the long-standing rivalry between the University of Alabama and the University of Georgia, taking part in a wide-ranging interview about the intersection of college football and politics.

“This is a really big time for football and it's great to see,” President Trump said.

Asked about his appeal to younger voters, Trump said his campaign is “very exciting.”
“We're so far ahead of the younger guys, and that's an honor. They're so smart. And she [Kamala Harris] “I accused them of saying, 'They're not smart,' and to be honest, they're a lot smarter than she is,” he said.
“There's never been more energy than there is right now. I think it's me, but it's also when they look at our country and what happened. Our country is deteriorating and now We're in a very dangerous situation. But we love you. We're going to make our country great again.

The NFL's kickoff changes caught President Trump's attention, and Republican candidates praised college football for sticking to the previous rules.
“College football is as big as the NFL,” he said. “I don't know what they're doing with kickoff returns in the NFL. Obviously I don't want to get into controversy, but it seems like a really bad thing.
“And I realized they didn't do that in college, and they shouldn't do that,” he said. “And I think the NFL should go back. And maybe a little more dangerous, but I don't think it can get any more dangerous. That's football.”
“I think they made a terrible mistake on that,” he said.

President Trump focused on Gov. Tim Walz, Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate, who attended Saturday's game. Minnesota and Michigan in Ann Arbor.
“He was booed and kicked out of the stadium,” he said. “Then I saw the hand we got, and it was a little different.”

“We'll have to wait and see what happens on November 5th. I think this is the most important day in our nation's history,” President Trump said. “It's going to be the biggest election ever because our country is getting worse. I said well, they're destroying our country, no, they're destroying our country. We are destroying it, and we are going to take it back.”

President Trump turned his attention to seven-time NFL Super Bowl champion Tom Brady, who made his first appearance in the FOX Sports broadcast booth.

Asked about his performance, President Trump said, “I think he did a really good job. And I think he's going to do a really good job. He's a winner, he's a champion.” “And there are a lot of people who are jealous of him. That's why they always say no matter how well he does, try to stay as negative as possible.”
“I think he's doing great,” he said.
