The possibility of the Golden State Warriors securing LeBron James might be more plausible than earlier assumptions suggested.
Recently, the Warriors have emerged as an unexpected contender in the free agency race, alongside the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, and Philadelphia 76ers.
However, comments from Rich Paul may have shifted the spotlight back onto the Warriors. On the “The Game Over” podcast, he and Max Kellerman explored the implications of James joining Golden State.
“The NBA is going to need them to broadcast 60 games nationally,” Paul remarked about the Warriors. “It’s ironic…at least half the time, if not more.”
Officials within the Warriors organization have openly expressed their interest in bringing James on board.
“We got him,” head coach Steve Kerr shared with fans recently. A video capturing this moment quickly gained traction, hinting at Golden State’s involvement in the potential signing of James.
Draymond Green took to social media to weigh in on Kerr’s remarks.
“If I know Steve as well as I think I do, he must be joking,” Green noted in an Instagram thread.
Meanwhile, Stephen Curry, who plays a pivotal role for the Warriors, shared his enthusiasm regarding James during a feature on “Good Morning America.”
“The Bay: We know how to win. Beautiful weather, great golf. I know he’s into it,” Curry mentioned. “We just know how to play basketball. And I think he’s going to enjoy just the idea of what it means to finish his career the right way.”
The future of the James sweepstakes remains uncertain, with only the 41-year-old star and his camp truly aware of what’s next. Still, the entire league is eager to see where James will land.
