FBI Investigation into Voter Fraud on Skid Row

Spencer Pratt, a candidate for mayor in Los Angeles, recently shared insights regarding the FBI’s probe into alleged voter fraud incidents on Skid Row. This followed a notable visit by federal agents to the area known for its struggles.

On Thursday, Pratt posted an image of his team engaging with a group on Skid Row, with “Moms for Pratt” posters evident on a wall that had been covered in graffiti.

He noted, “FBI agents are raiding Skid Row today. What do you notice in the background?” This comment came hours after federal agents conducted approximately 50 interviews in the vicinity.

“Whether you like it or not, we’re cleaning up LA,” he added.

Officials from the FBI and Homeland Security conducted the raid after receiving allegations about homeless individuals being offered money to vote during the June 2 primary.

Plainclothes agents were seen questioning individuals on Skid Row, asking if they had been compensated for their votes or if they were aware of others being approached in such a manner.

This marked a significant intensification of the federal inquiry into voting practices in Los Angeles, earning praise from FBI Director Kash Patel, who emphasized the importance of safeguarding elections. He stated, “Securing our elections is a top priority for this FBI! If you mess with our elections, we will find you!”

The investigation was prompted by alarming footage in which some Skid Row residents claimed to have received money to vote for incumbent Mayor Karen Bass and City Councilwoman Nitya Raman. In one instance, a resident mentioned he got $4 for voting for Bass.

This revelation came on the heels of reports that many homeless people were registered to vote at vacant shelters. While Bass secured an easy victory in the primary, Raman also achieved a strong performance after a late surge, ultimately surpassing Pratt.
