Trump Dismisses Claims of Israeli Provocation in Iran Conflict

President Donald Trump has denied suggestions that Israel influenced the decision to engage in conflict with Iran. In a recent post on Truth Social, he asserted that the results of this conflict “will be amazing.”

He highlighted the brutal Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, as a pivotal moment, reinforcing his long-held belief that Iran must be stopped from developing nuclear weapons. Trump stated, “Israel never encouraged me to go to war with Iran. The events of October 7th have only solidified my conviction that Iran must never acquire nuclear arms.”

Turning his attention to the media, he expressed skepticism about their coverage, saying, “I watch and read fake news pundits and polls in complete disbelief. Ninety percent of what they report is just lies and fabrications, akin to how the 2020 presidential election was rigged.” He went on to draw parallels between the situation in Iran and Venezuela, suggesting that the outcomes in Iran could surprise many, calling for a potential regime change that would lead to a “great and prosperous future” for the country.

U.S. Takes Action Against Iranian Vessel

This year, tensions escalated as the U.S. launched a military campaign against Iran alongside Israel, which lasted over a month. Although Trump announced a ceasefire earlier this month, he warned that U.S. forces would take out Iranian infrastructure if a negotiated deal wasn’t accepted. He reiterated this stance recently, threatening to destroy Iranian bridges and power plants if the deal isn’t struck.

In a recent post, Trump noted incidents where Iran fired shots in the Strait of Hormuz, which he deemed a violation of their ceasefire. “Many of those shots were aimed at French and British ships. Not good,” he remarked.

Trump highlighted that the U.S. was proposing a “very fair and reasonable deal,” emphasizing again that failure to accept it would have severe consequences: “No more, Mr. Nice Guy! If they don’t make the deal, it will be my honor to do what other leaders should have tackled regarding Iran. It’s time to put an end to this Iranian killing machine after 47 years!”

On Sunday, the U.S. military engaged an Iranian-flagged cargo ship, known as the Touska, that was allegedly violating a U.S. blockade. The USS Spruance, a guided missile destroyer, attempted to warn the vessel numerous times, but after the crew didn’t comply for six hours, shots were fired into the engine room, leading to its incapacitation. Marines subsequently boarded the ship, which is now under U.S. control.
