Sen. John Fetterman claims President Donald Trump's words are 'dangerous'

Fetterman Critiques Trump’s “Dangerous Statements”

Pennsylvania Democratic Senator John Fetterman has spoken out against President Donald Trump’s remarks, which he characterized as “dangerous.” This comes after Trump criticized Democratic lawmakers who appeared in a video urging military and intelligence personnel to disregard unlawful orders.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated, “Sedition is punishable by death!” He further described the situation as “really bad and dangerous for our country,” adding, “This is sedition by the traitors!!! Lock them down??”

While Fetterman was not one of the six Congress members featured in the divisive video, he still condemned Trump’s statements, saying, “We categorically reject this dangerous rhetoric. Please do not intimidate members of Congress, Republican or Democratic. This is simply wrong, without exception.”

In an interview on “The Brian Kilmeade Show,” Trump elaborated, stating that such comments might have warranted severe consequences in the past. He clarified he wasn’t threatening Congress members, but expressed that they might be “in deep trouble,” suggesting they urged military personnel to ignore presidential orders.

The video that sparked Trump’s reaction featured six Democratic lawmakers, including Senators Elissa Slotkin and Mark Kelly, along with Representatives Chris Deluzio and others. They accused the Trump administration of creating discord among the military and intelligence community and urged them to resist “unlawful orders.”

After Trump’s comments, the six senators responded with their own statement, condemning his remarks and stressing the importance of defending constitutional obligations. They emphasized that all Americans should denounce the president’s “calls for murder and political violence.”
