The Arizona Cardinals had, well, let’s say, potential for a better season in 2025, if a few more things had gone their way.
It’s a shame that the outcome of last year’s games was so bleak, starting with a promising 2-0 and ending the year at 3-14, capped by a tough nine-game losing streak.
But here’s the kicker: many games were lost by just a few points—seven or fewer, in fact.
Had they managed to close those gaps, maybe Kyler Murray and head coach Jonathan Gannon would still be around.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t meant to be.
This season, Mike LaFleur steps in as head coach, while Jacoby Brissett, who had a tough run in 2025 with a 1-11 record over 14 starts, is back.
To add to their woes, they’ve got one of the toughest schedules in the NFL.
Some notable teams heading to State Farm Stadium this year include Jared Goff’s Detroit Lions, Bo Nix’s Denver Broncos, Matthew Stafford with the Los Angeles Rams, Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles, and Brock Purdy’s San Francisco 49ers. Their regular season wraps up around January 9th or 10th.
Moreover, the reigning Super Bowl champs, the Seattle Seahawks, led by Sam Darnold, will be in town for the Cardinals’ home opener on Sunday, September 20th.
On the upside, Brissett and the team have picked up some promising talent, including rookie standout running back Jeremiah Love and draft picks like Chase Bisontis, Carson Beck, and Caleb Proctor.
They’ve also brought in new players like Devin Duvernay, Isaac Seumalo, Tyler Allgaier, Kendrick Bourne, and quarterback backup Gardner Minshew.
Key returning players include franchise tight end Trey McBride, star signee Josh Sweat, starting wide receiver Michael Wilson, elite safety Budda Baker, and offensive line leader Paris Johnson Jr.
If you’re looking to cheer for the Cardinals in the Valley of the Sun, there are tickets available for all eight 2026 home games at State Farm Stadium.
