Knicks Victory Parade Celebrates Championship Win
New York City came alive as millions gathered for the Knicks’ championship ticker tape parade, celebrating their historic victory in the NBA Finals. With police stationed along the route, organizers expect around 4 million fans to take part in this momentous occasion, where die-hard supporters and casual fans unite in joy.
Head coach Mike Brown made a memorable appearance at the parade, proudly wearing a T-shirt that read “10 Weeks” on the back, with “Sacrifice” emblazoned beneath the Knicks logo on the front. The shirt alluded to a lengthy speech from team owner James Dolan prior to the playoffs, where he discussed the sacrifices necessary for success. Interestingly, Dolan suggested that one of these sacrifices included avoiding intimacy for the playoffs’ duration.
Dolan had humorously remarked on April 3, “Maybe I should just not have sex for the next 10 weeks.” He referenced ancient Spartans, known for their self-restraint, to illustrate his point about gaining an edge. The Knicks’ performance confirmed some of that philosophy, as they lost only three games throughout the championship run.
Brown isn’t the only one in the organization to take Dolan’s comments lightly. Guard Michael Bridges also chimed in during an Instagram Live session, poking fun at a bizarre comment Dolan had made earlier about not having sex with his dog.
Since taking over in July 2025, following the unexpected firing of Tom Thibodeau, Brown has now brought the Knicks their first championship since 1973, making that decision seem quite wise in hindsight.
In a thrilling series, the Knicks dispatched the San Antonio Spurs in just five games. Surprisingly, despite leading by 12 points in every match, the Spurs couldn’t clinch a win, with Game 4 standing out—where the Knicks made a jaw-dropping comeback from a 29-point deficit at Madison Square Garden.
