Preparing for a minor emergency is stressful enough, but a disaster can be downright overwhelming.
that’s why glenn beck made it much less complex and laid out “6 basic steps for preparation.”
“Most people give up before they even start, but it’s actually very easy and inexpensive,” Glenn explains, adding, “Start with what the government is currently ignoring: the basics.” added.
The first step is to build a strong personal financial and health foundation.
“The best way to protect yourself from a financial crisis is to stay out of debt as much as possible. You also need to build a financial position that allows you to put a few extra dollars each month toward your preparedness plan,” says Glenn. says.
“We also need to ensure that poor health does not become a hindrance to survival when needed,” he added, noting that being able to walk considerable distances and carry what you need is paramount.
The second step is to prepare your home for two weeks of independence. That means 15 gallons of water per person, 23,000 calories per person, and a light source. You’ll also need guns, ammunition, room heating, a USB-powered fan, and medical supplies.
Another great tool is amateur radio, which Glenn plans to learn and get his license.
The third step is to have a bugger bag filled with everything from 32 ounces of water, a tarp, a field knife, and all-important cash.
The fourth step is to prepare for emergencies away from home. “Exercise your Second Amendment rights to protect yourself,” Glenn says.
The fifth step is to practice the skills you need to defend yourself, such as shooting a gun. Last, but definitely not least, he’s number six. It’s about sharing and building on the foundation with others.
“Share what you learn and build a base of like-minded friends and family,” says Glenn.
