On Sunday, after Xander Schauffele narrowly defeated Bryson DeChambeau to win the major at the PGA Championship, golfer Max Homa poked fun at Scottie Scheffler’s arrest.
Homa finished tied for 35th at Valhalla Golf Course in Kentucky. He shot a 69 at 8 under par in the final round. Despite being arrested before the second round, Scheffler finished tied for eighth in the tournament with a total of 13 under.

Homa reacted to the tournament finish Sunday afternoon.
“Frustrating week in Kentucky. Lost to a guy who was literally in jail on Friday morning,” he captioned an Instagram post summarizing the weekend. “It’s tough. The trip continues next week in Fort Worth.”
Scheffler was charged with second-degree assault on a police officer (a felony), criminal mischief, reckless driving, and failing a traffic-directing officer.

He allegedly drove his car past a police officer who was directing traffic and did not stop when instructed to do so. Officers tackled Scheffler’s car and dragged him away. Louisville Detective Brian Gillis was injured in the incident, according to an arrest report.
Jefferson County prosecutors had planned to drop the charges “at this time.” Layup prohibited reported on Sunday, citing a person “familiar with the authorities’ thinking.”
However, the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office pushed back on that idea later in the day.
“The Jefferson County Attorney’s Office has not made any decisions regarding Mr. Scheffler’s case,” Jefferson County Attorney Mike O’Connell said in a statement. “We continue to gather information regarding the incident and will review and proceed accordingly.”
