On Friday’s “Tomi Lahren is Fearless” podcast, The New York Times bestseller Defeat Biden Author and Breitbart News editor-in-chief Alex Marlow argued that Democrats are trying to undermine former President Donald Trump, a potential 2024 Republican presidential candidate, with criminal charges, but that Trump can’t achieve that goal by sacrificing his messaging on the economy to focus on a retrial in New York.
Host Tomi Lahren said Trump’s press conference about the trial earlier in the day could have been trimmed down by about 25 minutes because he wasted too much time dwelling on the legal aspects of the case.
“That’s a great point,” Marlowe replied, adding that Trump’s comments from the night before and the Bronx rally were better and that Trump cannot allow Democrats to succeed in their efforts to undermine him.
He went on to say that Trump needed to get back to his message on the economy, that arguing about legality at the expense of the economic message would not serve Democrats’ purposes, and that because Democrats clearly wanted Trump convicted, it was dangerous to assume that a conviction would have won him the election.
